Silk Jaquard Ivory Wedding Gown w Long Train and Wax Flowers
1920s Silk jacquard wedding gown with gorgeous long train. The dress has a scooped neckline and a two part bodice. The short sleeves are connected to the inner bodice of ivory silk georgette. Closes up the center back. The over bodice is sleeveless and is draped and pleated into the side seams. Accented with a bouquet of wax orange blossoms. The back of the dress also snaps right over left and extends down into a long train. At the center back is a matching bouquet of wax orange blossoms. The orange blossoms are repeated at the base of the train. One thing I love is that around the inner waist where no one but the bride would see is a band of pleated silk tulle set with pink silk ribbon roses. The skirt of the gown is cut asymmetrically. The right side seams are cut with a right angle and weighted. On the left side the fullness is contained with three deep pleats and rather than having a side seam. The skirt laps right over left and is tacked in place only a couple of places. This gives the opportunity to glimpse the stocking leg. There is an issue. This bride did not use dress shields. So there are underarm stains and fabric rot. See photos.
